Sinus infections are commonplace and can be a very annoying and painful condition. They are very common and are most often triggered by viral infections such as influenza. However they can also be caused by bacteria such as streptococcus, allergies or pollution such as cigarette smoke.

Sinuses are mucosa-lined airspaces within the bones of the face and skull. Did you know that there are several sinuses? There are the maxillary sinuses (in the cheek area), the frontal sinuses (behind the brow ridges), the ethnical sinuses (between the upper parts of the nasal cavities and the orbits) and the sphenoidal sinuses (behind the nasal cavity). It’s surprisingly complex back there!

Isn’t it amazing how little the majority of people know about their own bodies? My first real experience of this was when I sustained a back injury and went to see a chiropractor, who started talking to me in terms of L4, T6 and so on. I realized that I didn’t even know how many vertebrae were in my own spine! I’m far from alone – but if you are interested in optimum health as I am sure you are, I would highly recommend some study of anatomy and to gain an understanding of what your various bits are and how they work…

Another tip I noticed in someone’s comment on the article – “Don’t eat dairy!” What do you think about this? It’s often agreed that drinking cow’s milk leads to congestion.

There are numerous ways to treat a sinus infection. One of the general principles is to introduce a simple antiviral or antibacterial which is tolerable to the delicate internal mucosa. Hence the use of the “Neti” pot which floods the nose with warm salt water, which is both cleansing and antiseptic. The use of Neti is commonplace in countries such as India, where it is considered a very valuable health practice and thought to reduce the risk of infections.

😳 Tinnitus And Brain Health?

After 47 years of studies and countless brain scans done on more than 2,400 tinnitus patients, scientists at the MIT Institute found that in a shocking 96% of cases, tinnitus was actually shrinking their brain cells.

As it turns out, tinnitus and brain health are strongly linked.

Even more interesting: The reason why top army officials are not deaf after decades of hearing machine guns, bombs going off and helicopter noises…

Is because they are using something called "the wire method", a simple protocol inspired by a classified surgery on deaf people from the 1950s...
