We just discovered a fantastically simple tutorial for making your own dishwasher detergent cubes – and had to share. What’s astonishing is that it requires only five simple, inexpensive ingredients: Washing Soda, Vinegar Epsom salt, Borax and lemon juice (or lemon essential oil). Not only is it easy, but I’m expecting that this could save money as the ingredients are relatively inexpensive.

This ingredient combo avoids the use of more intense toxic chemicals and according to the creators of the recipe, they haven’t had any problems with scaly white buildup that may be attributed to phosphates that are present in many dishwashing soaps.

Here is the link to the full tutorial:

ps. One last note from us – if you are going to use ice cube trays for this, be sure that they will not be used afterwards for ice cubes – as traces of borax etc might remain. Mark them clearly with a sharpie or something so that someone doesn’t use them for ice without knowing.

😳 Tinnitus And Brain Health?

After 47 years of studies and countless brain scans done on more than 2,400 tinnitus patients, scientists at the MIT Institute found that in a shocking 96% of cases, tinnitus was actually shrinking their brain cells.

As it turns out, tinnitus and brain health are strongly linked.

Even more interesting: The reason why top army officials are not deaf after decades of hearing machine guns, bombs going off and helicopter noises…

Is because they are using something called "the wire method", a simple protocol inspired by a classified surgery on deaf people from the 1950s...

  1. Just a thought.. if this is cleaning your dishes, and you eat off of them; why could you not use the ice cube trays again?

  2. can’t wait to try this…the one we have been using leave a taste on our dishes…

  3. You can use the ice cube trays again, but if you ever use any tray for other than ice (chicken broth, marinara sauce, etc…), you will not want to use it again for plain ice cubes.

  4. If we can wash our dishes with it then why cant we reuse the ice trays for ice. The ingredients will be on our dishes that we will use and with some even have them inside our mouths. Please reply ty.

  5. I’d use special trays for this if my trays were plastic; the ingredients are safe, but my experience freezing pesto in cubes taught me that plastic trays retain and leech scents and flavor into the ice cubes. They’re fine to use, but taste odd. Silicone trays are better for not absorbing food scents, so I might use them for this recipe and still make ice with them later.

  6. Could citric acid replace the lemon juice, if so how much do you suggest? If lemon juice is needed do we just use any store bought lemon juice? Thanks!

  7. It seems the lemon juice is used as a binder for the dry products. Since lemons are used for cleaning it seems like a natural choice to use them but I don’t think we are limited to them. I use a natural orange oil based cleaner for most things and will add some of that instead of the lemon.

  8. Im going to try this and use white vinegar instead of lemon juice as they both perform a similar action

  9. Make sure that if you do use this, you don’t put stainless steel in the dishwasher. Lemon juice will pit stainless steel.
