The amazing recipe for boo boo salve we have discovered may also be of benefit for eczema, diaper rash as well as dry and chapped skin.
Here are some of the qualities of the ingredients:
Coconut
Known for its antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant and soothing properties, coconut is used extensively in promoting hair and skin health. Coconut oil is also an excellent moisturizer to different skin types. In fact, coconut is one of the most popular ingredients of many skin care products today because of its ability to delay signs of premature aging such as sagging and wrinkles, as well as in preventing skin flaking and dryness.
Olive
Known to be a wonderful gentle moisturizer for dry skin, olive oil is a rich source of Vitamin E that is effective in calming irritations as well as in making the skin younger, suppler and feel smoother and softer. Since the Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Phoenician civilizations, olive oil has been widely used for the purpose of delaying premature skin aging. It actually contains four major antioxidants like Vitamins E and A that act as cleansers and protectors of the skin.
Comfrey
Normally used to treat wounds, comfrey can also be used to sooth inflammation caused by broken bones and sprains. It contains allantoin, a powerful compound that keeps the skin healthy and stimulates the growth of new cells. Comfrey leaves are normally applied to the skin to heal bruises.
Calendula
Due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, calendula is claimed to be effective in promoting faster regeneration and healing of damaged and dry skin. Aside from its ability to restore the youthful glow of the skin, calendula also shows to be useful in protecting the skin against thinning and premature aging. It can also be used to reduce crow’s feet, and baby diaper rash.
Beeswax
Equipped with antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, beeswax is known to create a protective barrier when applied onto the skin. It contains humectants and emollient properties that moisturize dry and rough skin. Furthermore, it is a good source of Vitamin A that softens and rehydrates dry skin, and promotes cell reconstruction.
Honey
Honey has shown promising effects in promoting skin health. In addition to its powerful substance that prevents infection and speeds up healing, honey is also effective in moisturizing the skin and restoring its natural glow, suppleness and youthness. Just be sure to get the real stuff!
Lavender
Lavender is a powerful herb that is widely known for its immense effects in treating different kinds of illnesses. It treats burns, and it contains antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties that treat acne, athlete’s foot, and ringworm.
