Because of the toxins we expose ourselves to on a daily basis, doing a controlled detox several times a year can be very beneficial. While the body releases toxins on its own through natural detoxification, it is such a waste if we don’t lend a helping hand to boost the process. There are plenty of diet and lifestyle changes we can do to help keep our body healthy through detoxification.
Here are seven tips to help your body cleanse itself from toxins.
1. Get Into The Habit Of Exercising Regularly
Because of our attachment to our electronic devices, whether television, laptop or mobile phone, we have developed a tendency to become too lazy. Nowadays, kids and adults alike would rather spend a beautiful day inside, tapping away on a laptop or smartphone, instead of heading outside for any sort of physical activity. But did you know that staying still is detrimental to detoxification? When you exercise or perform a vigorous physical activity, you sweat. Sweating is a way for the body to release toxins and detoxify itself. You increase your metabolic rate which is vital for burning calories and weight loss, and you detoxify your body too. 
2. Go Organic With Your Skincare
The skin plays a big role in the immune system by acting as a barrier between the environment and your body. However, the skin also easily absorbs products we apply to it, specifically items from our skincare regimen. Your facial wash, toner, and especially your moisturizer often boasts ingredients that are “easily absorbed” by the skin and help improve its texture and appearance. But dangerous ingredients like parabens and toxic chemicals can also easily be absorbed by the skin, making it harder for the body to detoxify itself. Instead of helping your skin become healthy, you can damage it and cause it to age prematurely – and you’re damaging your liver as well! (Since the liver is responsible for filtering out toxins from the blood) 
3. Be Wary Of The Water You Drink
According to WaterAid, more than 600 million people in the world do not have access to clean water. That’s one in ten people who have to suffer drinking and using water from unsafe sources. However, other the nine out of ten people who do have access to clean water are exposed to the harsh chemicals in treated water – chlorine and heavy metals are some of the biggest threats when it comes to your safety! Drink and use filtered water to prevent toxins from entering your body. 
4. Do Away With Plastic
Because the compounds used in making plastics aren’t stable, they have a tendency to mix with food or water inside the container when exposed to high temperatures. In fact, poorly made plastic items leech chemicals into food even without the addition of heat.
Avoid reusing plastic containers or use ones that are BPA (bisphenol-A) free to prevent unwanted toxic chemicals from mixing with your food or drink. Opt for glass or other non-leaching containers instead! 
5. Have A Hot Epsom Salt Bath
A hot bath with Epsom Salt will not only calm and relax you, but will also remove toxins from your body. Magnesium sulphate or epsom salt is very popular for easing body aches and pains, drawing out toxins, and relaxing the nervous system. If you’ve had a particularly tiring day, you can choose to detoxify your body and mind by having a warm bath with Epsom salt. This can also help cure sleepless nights! Just add lavender or your choice of essential oils to the bath water. 
6. Try Dry Skin Brushing
Dry skin brushing is a relaxing technique that needs only 2 minutes of your time every day. Just get a soft fibre brush and gently brush your body in circular manner, moving towards the heart. This allows blood and lymph to better flow to and from the heart, aiding with the removal of toxins from the body. Making this a daily practice also helps remove dead skin cells, improving your skin’s cell turnover rate. 
7. Try The Magic Of Infrared Sauna
Saunas work very similarly to exercise – the sweat produced helps flush out toxins from the body. The sauna’s infrared rays produce sun-like energy which helps with cellular cleansing, metabolism, and circulation of blood – all of which can help with detoxification.
Going into the sauna for 15 minutes every day can facilitate the removal of toxins from your body without any actual physical activity – you just have to be able to withstand the heat! 
Our skin plays a much bigger role than protecting inner organs. What you apply to it or expose it to affects your body’s health as a whole. Also need to keep healthy lifestyle habits in order to help with the body’s natural detoxification process which can improve our overall quality of life.
