This is a subject that I find quite intriguing and I’m sure others will too.
I often feel as though I’m in need of an “energy boost”. There are always tons of things to do, and sometimes I need assistance to get going. Like most people, I have a habit of reaching for the caffeinated beverage: In my case, black tea – which I drink several cups of per day.
Now tea has some health benefits of its own – but what if you could eat foods which give you the energy but without the “caffeine spike” that, in the case of coffee, can leave you feeling tired and irritable “after the crash”.
We’ve found a page which lists 20 of the best foods considered beneficial to your general energy levels.
Tea and coffee are mentioned in the list of 20 “Energy Foods” – however 18 other healthy foods are mentioned, each of which has nutritional components that have been reported by various researches to assist the body with fatigue and revitalization. Fatigue and sickness are linked it makes sense if you think about it: The healthier you are, the more energy you will probably have. These foods are in general what you might consider “light” – and good for the overall system.
There is one more that I want to add to the list (that I am surprised they missed) – fresh juices! Ok, they included the “green smoothie” – but it is not quite the same thing. In terms of giving energy, clarity and a feeling of well-being, I can’t think of anything that beats freshly-made fruit / vegetable juices, especially if extracted form organic fruit & veg using a high quality juicer that preserves the nutritional profile of the produce well.
