As those of you who have been following our blog will know, we’re very fond of honey – especially the high-grade raw stuff, to which we dedicated a full-length post recently.
However we only really discussed the nutritional benefits of eating good quality honey. It turns out that there are several other things that you can do with it. From adding it to bath water (in small amounts!) through to using it as part of a lip balm recipe – there are all sorts of ideas for the experimental honey aficionado.
The original list of 20 Unusual Uses For Honey that we found and planned to share with you contains some good ideas, but we also thought to be honest that they were stretching it a little to come up with 20 – and that some of them were simply different honey recipes – atypical perhaps but not really all that strange! So we dug around a little and quickly came up with another completely different list of 15 more. The 2nd list might better be titled “15 medicinal uses for honey” – as all the uses make reference to its nutritional and health giving properties. These are a bit more like it: Did you know that the reason why honey has a tradition of use as an antiseptic and can be applied topically on cuts is because it releases hydrogen peroxide? Me neither!
Here then are both lists – the original list of 20 and then the “bonus 15” weird but amazing uses of honey. Enjoy!

A friend of mine started taking a dose of honey daily until he went to his doctor and found out that his sugar level was through the roof. Doctor told him to stop at once.
