I’ve been researching the incredible Aloe Vera and discovering more reasons to love it than ever before. In particular, I discovered two fantastic “best of class” pages that give you an absolute wealth of useful information and inspiration:
Mike Adams “The Health Ranger” absolutely raves about Aloe Vera He calls it …“the most impressive medicinal herb that nature has ever created.” He cites the impressive qualities of the plant – giving a huge list.
• Halts growth of cancer tumors.
• Lowers high cholesterol.
• Repairs “sludge blood” and reverses “sticky blood”.
• Boosts blood oxygenation.
• Eases inflammation and soothes arthritis pain.
• Protects the body from oxidative stress.
• Helps prevent kidney stones and protects the body from oxalates in coffee and tea.
• Alkalizes the body, helping to balance overly acidic dietary habits.
• Cures ulcers, IBS, Crohn’s disease and other digestive disorders.
• Reduces high blood pressure by treating the cause, not just the symptoms.
• Nourishes the body with minerals, vitamins, enzymes and glyconutrients.
• Accelerates healing from physical burns and radiation burns (this is one of its most famous “miraculous” uses).
• Replaces dozens of first aid products, makes bandages and antibacterial sprays obsolete.
• Halts colon cancer, heals the intestines and lubricates the digestive tract.
• Ends constipation.
• Stabilizes blood sugar and reduces triglycerides in diabetics.
• Prevents and treats candida infections.
• Protects the kidneys from disease.
• Functions as nature’s own “sports drink” for electrolyte balance, making common sports drinks obsolete. [Yes!]
• Boosts cardiovascular performance and physical endurance.
• Speeds recovery from injury or physical exertion.
• Hydrates the skin, accelerates skin repair.
Isn’t that incredible? He then goes on to describe each of these points in detail, complete with links to the scientific research articles. His article is an absolute gold mine of Aloe Vera information – Read his full article on Aloe Vera here:

I also really enjoyed his method of “farming” the Aloe Vera, growing several plants and simply harvesting a leaf when needed, allowing the plant to continue to grow. This is really a true “close to nature” way to use resources – totally sustainable and low-impact! So I’d like to encourage you to grow your own (if possible) – for the ultimate in freshness and for the ecological factors.
Here’s another absolutely brilliant info source I found – this one is really “hands on” and describes actual ways to use Aloe Vera in great detail:
https://onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/10/the-many-benefits-of-aloe-vera-the-medicine-plant.html
Between those two sources (and maybe a browse through Wikipedia’s Aloe Vera page), I’d say you truly have all the info you need to call yourself an Aloe Vera pro…. enjoy!

Aloe Vera is great. I use it about once per week and looking to increase the dosage. I just put it on a blender with some fruits and superfoods and shug it down.

Aloe vera grows wild in my yard, year round. I use it every day and night on my skin. When I’m done, my dog eats it. HE LOVES IT! Everyone says, “Don’t feed aloe to your dog!” but I have never met anyone who knows WHY, or seen any case studies on why it is bad. He’s been eating it for 2 years, since he was a puppy, and he is very healthy. Anyone have any idea on how aloe got such a bad rap as a treat for dogs?

I’m just learning about the cancer fighting properties but I can tell you it works miracles preventing sunburn. One hot summer day I was out on Lake Superior near Pictured Rocks in a kayak all day. The sun was so hot but I did not burn thanks to using Aloe Vera Gel. I was so surprised! It’s also handy to keep as hair/shaving gel. And yes it’s anti bacteria as well.

I’m using Aloe Vera for ticking my hair, and our remedies for the ezyma or wound. It is very useful. I am happy now that I found a aloe Vera plant.

FYI– Aloe stains clothing; beware. One more thing: If you are treating something like sunburn, peel and slice several aloe leaves. Place half of the slices on the sunburn; put the other half of the leaves on a saucer in refrigerator. Switch them out when the slices on your sunburn get warm or begin to dry.
